Zing, plumbum excavation begins in Kandahar

KABUL: The mining of zing and plumbum has begun from the Bibi Gawhar reservoir in the Khakriz district of the country’s southern province of Kandahar, according to the provincial official. Director of Kandahar Miningand Petroleum, Mawlavi Abdul Hanan said that the treasury would be excavated by the Belal Nasir Company against the construction of the Uruzgan-Dihraud Charchino 250 kilometers road. According to him, up to 17 percent of the five-year contract, has been held by the Islamic Emirate and besides giving the share, the company has to construct a 250 kilometers long road as well. Hanan went on as saying that gold and silver were also available in the site, but the company has only contracted the mining of zing and plumbum. “Up to 3,000 people would be employed for the excavation projects of the zing and plumbum,” said Mohammad Rafiq Mangal, the company’s project manager.
