Zarghuna Ana Tomb’s restoration; Minister Khairkhwa inaugurates ceremony in Kandahar

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, during his visit to the country’s southern provinces, in an official ceremony, kicked off the restoration of Zarghuna Ana’s tomb at a cost of 11 million Afghani (some 152,647 U.S. dollars) in Kandahar. The ceremony was participated by a number of high-ranking government officials including the Director of the provincial Information and Culture Department Mawlavi Inamullah Samangani and the Head of Restoration and Pres ervation of Historical Monuments Engineer Mohammad Hasib Nasimi, the ministry said in a statement on Monday. Addressing the ceremony, Mullah Khairkhwa said that the state and condition of the country’s historical monuments have not been better and the restoration of Zarghuna Ana’s tomb was also stopped, according to the statement. Referring to the launching of restoration work on a number of the country’s historical sites and places, Minster Khairkhwa added that based on the decree of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the historical monuments that are on the verge of destruction will be reconstructed countrywide. This is to be noted that the restoration of the tombs of Mirwais Nika and Ahmad Shah Baba has been completed. According to another report, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa during his visit to Helmand province, inaugurated a mosque alongside the Kandahar-Herat highway in the Nahr-e-Siraj district of the province.
