Zarghona Ana’s tomb to be reconstructed, Minister Khairkhwa

KABUL: The Acting Information and Culture Minister of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, during travel to the country’s southern province of Kandahar, visited shrine of King Ahmad Shah Baba’s mother Zarghona Anaa, the ministry said in a statement Saturday. Vowing for the restoration of Zarghona Anaa’s tomb, Mullah Khairkhwa said that reconstruction work of four historical monuments include the tomb of Mirwais Khan, the house and tomb of Ahmad Shah Baba and the Ahmad Shahi reservoir in Spin Boldak worth 24 million Afghani has started in the province, according to the statement. “The restoration work of several other historical sites worth 260 million Afghani is currently underway in different provinces of the country, the ministry is committed to reconstruct all historical places across the country,” the statement quoted Khairkhwa as saying. Meanwhile, Director of the provincial Information and Culture Department Inamullah Samangani said that we are very grateful to the Islamic Emirate for giving a positive answer to our request, and sufficient funds have been taken into consideration for the reconstruction of these sites. This comes amid most of the country’s historic buildings and monuments are in danger of collapsing and if the government does not pay serious attention to them, they will be destroyed in the notso-distant future.
