KABUL: Women’s rights are observed under the holy religion of Islam, said Bilal Karimi Deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the other day.
He said on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women that women’s rights are respected in Afghanistan more than ever before and that the current Islamic system is committed to upholding the rights of all citizens.
“All of our citizens’ rights are protected under the Islamic Sharia and the Islamic system, but, at the same time, I can affirm that before the Islamic Emirate’s arrival, the rights of women and girls, including the right to family, the right to dignity, the right to honor, and the right to property, have not completely been respected,” said the spokesman.
