Wheat yield increases by 80% in Jawzjan

SHEBERGHAN: Wheat yield has been increased by 80 percent in the country’s northern province of Jawzjan in the current solar year, the provincial Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department said in a statement Saturday. Agricultural Promotion Officer of the provincial Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Department Mawlavi Abdul Jabbar Khattab, said that wheat has been cultivated on more than 23,000 hectares of land across the province in the current solar year and the wheat yield has significantly increased by 80 percent compared to the previous year, according to the statement. He linked the increase in the wheat yield to the abundant seasonal rainfall coupled with favorable climatic conditions. This achievement holds great importance for the re gion’s agricultural sector, contributing to increased food production and improving the livelihoods of local communities. The Kabul Times
