West with no diplomatic presence, unaware of progress in Afghanistan, ambassador

KABUL: The Japanese ambassador to Kabul Takayoshi Kurokawa said that the international community wants the Afghanistan issue to be addressed through dialogues. He made the remarks in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, here in Sapidar palace, Arg said in a statement the other day. “The West has no diplomatic presence in Afghanistan, and therefore, it is not adequately aware of the progress in Afghanistan and appreciates the achievements of the Islamic Emirate.,” the statement quoted Kurokawa as saying. He added that Tokyo is committed to cooperation with Kabul and expects to draw on Japan’s experiences in Afghanistan in the field of disaster management. Meanwhile, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, stated that Tokyo’s positive stance towards Afghanistan has contributed to the establishment of good and positive interaction between the two sides. He called for strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Japan in the educational and cultural sectors. “The Islamic Emirate seeks positive interaction and broad relations with the international community,” the statement quoted him as saying.
