TALOQAN: Dozens of various light and heavy weapons and a huge amount of ammunitions have been discovered and seized in the country’s northern province of Takhar, the 217th Army Corps said in a statement the other day. “The 217th Northern Zone Army Corps’ personnel in a series of search operations, have discovered and seized dozens of weapons and heavy amount of ammunitions including two Ak-47 with 15 bullet holders, warheads of RPG-7 from Farkhar and Ishkamush districts of the province,” the statement said. A few weeks ago, a considerable number of weapons and huge amounts of ammunition, during various clearance operations have been discovered and seized, as well as scores of criminal suspects have also been arrested in connection with illegally keeping and carrying the weapons in the province, the statement added.
