TALUQAN, PUL-I-KHUM- RI: Various light and heavy weap ons and a huge amount of ammunition have been discovered and seized in the country’s northern provinces of Takhar and Baghlan, the 217th Army Corps of the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement on Monday. “The security personnel of the army corps in a series of search operations, have discovered and seized various weapons and heavy amounts of ammunitions including two AK-47, six grenades, eighteen bullet holders, thirty-three shells of RPG-7 in various parts of Takhar and Baghlan provinces,” the statement said. A few weeks ago, a large number of weapons and huge amounts of ammunition, during various clearance operations, had been discovered, as well as scores of criminal suspects had been arrested in connection with illegally keeping and carrying the weapons in the provinces, the statement added. The security forces of the Islamic Emirate are seriously working day and night to identify and arrest those who attempt to create public disorders and bring them to the law. The Kabul Times
