“War begins with thought and ends with thought,” Wafayezada

KABUL: Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada said that the Taliban have long learned devastation in Pakistani schools.

“The enemy we are facing has for years learned the lessons of devastation and destruction of Afghanistan and emptying it of thought and knowledge in the Pakistani schools and astronomical circles and that anyone learns knowledge and whoever acquires a skill or has independent thought, should be beheaded, and wherever a building is built and a village flourishes, deserves destruction,” he said in a recent Facebook post on Friday.

“They [the Taliban] see religion as destruction and bloodshed. While killing a Hazara tribe shepherd, they chant Allah Akbar, while destroying a building or a facility, they chant Allah Akbar. Ultimately they feel salvation by killing every citizen of this land and by destroying every settlement,” Wafayezada added.

“In other word, they are the enemy of progress, development and evolution. They feel peace when they return Afghanistan to the Stone Age,” said the minister. “They fear freedom of speech and the media, they hate human rights, they do not see or hear art and that they feel women’s political, cultural, and economic presence and activity undermines their faith, and not only they have no will to break their ignorance, they are even afraid of the light,” the acting minister noted.

The Acting Minister of Information and Culture went on as saying the standard of their ‘right and wrong’ was determined by spy networks and that they reconcile with infidels and wage jihad (holy war) against the believers. “They are working for others and destroying their homeland.”

Recalling Alama Iqbal poem, Wafayezada said, they are neither compatible with Imam Jafar Sadeq nor are loyal to Imam Azam Abu Hanifa Kabuli, but only allegiant to Salafism and religious fossilism (rejected religious rites.)

“Their war is not in Takhar, Badakhshan, Kandahar, Ghazni, Herat and Helmand provinces, but their war is of ignorance and arises from a violent, raw, bloodthirsty mind, poor thought and foreign intellectual instincts, which will bring nothing but ruin and destruction,” the country’s acting Minister of Information and Culture continued.

To change the ongoing situation, Minister Wafayezada advised, there was a need for an intellectual and cultural work and to deconstruct the culture of war and violence and instead to build the culture of peace and tolerance and to eliminate the grounds for mobilizing the youth and the society in favor of the groups of ignorance, war and violence.
