Wafayezada, Turkish ambassador discuss enhancing bilateral relations

Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mohammad Qasim Wafayezada met with the Turkish Ambassador to Kabul and both sides discussed expansion of cultural relations between the two countries, the ministry said in a statement today.

The nominee and acting Minister of Information and Culture, as quoted in the statement, hinted at good and friendly relations between Afghanistan and Turkey, especially in the cultural sector, and emphasized the expansion of cultural relations between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed the Turkish cooperation in establishing a cultural center, archive management, cooperation between the two countries’ radio and television, and providing immunity programs for artists, filmmakers and journalists, according to the statement.

The Turkish ambassador assured his country’s cooperation in the mentioned fields to the acting minister of Information and Culture.

Also in the meeting, Turkish General Consulate submitted some volumes of the book “Al-Tahfeta Al-Qadriya” to the ministry, which is written by Ibn Munir in 1772-1722 at the court of Ahmad Shah Baba, in praise of Abdul Qadir Gilani and is in Pashto language.

TIKA Foundation published the book and donated it to the Ministry of Information and Culture. The book is one of the rare works that Turkish General Consulate obtained from a Polish archive.
The meeting was also attended by Bashir Hakimi, deputy minister of finance, admin and tourism of Ministry of Information and Culture.
