VP Danesh asks MoHE, MoPH to address challenges facing health sector

KABUL: Second Vice President Sarwar Danesh at the Doctors Registration Ceremony held yesterday said medicine could deliver better and proper services to the society when it was controlled from point of medical moral, professional and legal knowledge.
At the ceremony held with participation of chief of Afghanistan Medical Council, members of the council, minister of higher education, deputy ministers of public health and higher education, chancellor of Kabul Medical University, heads of hospitals, medical lecturers, doctors and media, second vice president while stressing on importance of works and activities of Afghanistan Medical Council and its role for standardizing health services and monitoring doctors’ responsibilities and rights said delivering quality services and maintaining the rights and responsibilities of doctors and patients could be fulfilled through this council.
Pointing to enhancement of doctors’ professional and academic capacity, Daensh said that MoPH and MoHE should make effort to address increasing challenges and problems facing health sector of Afghanistan.
Danesh considered that management of doctors and patients’ rights and problems and monitoring them as key responsibility of Afghanistan Medical Council and stressed on investigation of rights of the patients as their right of patients were fully overwhelmed in Afghan society.
Based on 3rd article of medical council’s law, promotion of medical moral, addressing complaints and medical violations and enhancement of knowledge of medical doctors through improving standards for medical education and ensuring continuous medical education are key objectives of the council. Stressing on cooperation of medical doctors with Afghanistan Medical Council, second vice president added that implementation of the council’s objectives was not possible without overall cooperation of the MoPH and MoHE. Danesh by praising the council for its efforts asked to accelerate its executions and activities.
