Uzbekistan will stand by Afghan government, people: Envoy

KABUL: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, and Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Finance, met with Abdul Aziz Kamelov, Special Envoy of the Uzbek President for Foreign Affairs, and Ismatullah Arkashov, Special Envoy of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, ministry of foreign affairs said in a statement. In the meeting, special representative of the President of Uzbekistan says, Uzbekistan will stand by the government and people of Afghanistan in international forums.
Also, both sides discussed increasing trade and transit between the two countries.
Abdul Aziz Kamelov, special envoy of the President of Uzbekistan in foreign affairs, said that the security and stability in Afghanistan is important for Uzbekistan and that Afghanistan can play an important role in the economic relations of the region.
He added that political and commercial relations with Afghanistan are important and they will work to further develop relations. This country will stand by the government and people of Afghanistan in every international forum.
Kamelov called the participation of the Afghan delegation in Tashkent important and called Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi’s speeches based on reality.
