UNSC’s report on IEA, al-Qaeda relation baseless, Mujahid

KABUL: The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) on Saturday, rejected the United Nations Security Council’s recent report on the alleged relation between the Islamic Emirate and al-Qaida network. “The Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan has complete control over the situation, there are no active terrorist groups in Afghanistan and the IEA will not allow any group or entity to destabilize the country or use Afghan soil against other countries,” Mujahid said in a statement. Denouncing the UNSC’s sanctions monitoring team’s claim alledging that the IEA has kept its close relations with alQaeda, Mujahid reiterated that no militant group was operational and active here and that Afghanistan was not a threat to anyone and the Islamic Emirate wanted good and constructive relations with the international community.
