UNSC approves Gaza ceasefire resolution, after brutal bloodshed

According to reports, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Monday demanded an immediate ceasefire between the warring sides; Israel and the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement. The truce was aimed at restoring the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages after America abstained from the vote. The resolution, which was proposed by the 10 elected members of the council, was voted by the remaining 14 council members, to stop the long war and the suffering of the Palestinians. “The Palestinian people have suffered greatly. This bloodbath has continued for far too long. It is our obligation to put an end to this bloodbath, before it is too late,” Algeria’s U.N. Ambassador Amar Bendjama told the council. But, shortly before the council meeting started, the Israeli regime army radio reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would cancel a planned delegation to Washington if the U.S. did not veto the resolution. This is while, according to reports, America had been against the word ceasefire earlier in the nearly six-month-old war in the Gaza Strip. America, against all human rights values, used its veto power allowing its ally Israel to continue retaliation against Hamas for an October 7 attack that the regime claims killed more than 1,000 Israelis. But following growing global pressure for a truce, America abstained from the vote to allow the Security Council to demand an immediate ceasefire that killed more than 32,000 people, mostly, women and children in the Gaza Strip, with the bloodshed still continuing claiming more and more lives during the holy month of Ramadan. The resolution, according to reports, also demands the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages, taken by the Hamas Resistance Movement, as the Israeli regime says the number reached 253 since its October- 7 attack. According to the American Ambassador to the UN, America’s support for the objectives is not simply rhetorical and they were working around the clock to make them real on the ground through diplomacy. “Because we know that it is only through diplomacy that we can push this agenda forward,”. According to her, the ceasefire can begin immediately with the release of the first hostage and they would put pressure on Hamas ‘to do just that.’ The urgent need to expand the flow of humanitarian assistance to and reinforce the protection of civilians in the entire Gaza Strip was emphasized in the Security Council resolution. After America allowed the passage of a Gaza ceasefire resolution at the United Nations, relations between Biden and Netanyahu faced a stalemate situation. Israel abruptly suspended its senior delegation’s visit to Washington this week to discuss its threatened offensive in Rafah; the southern Gaza city after America abstained in a Security Council vote, demanding an immediate truce that would help the release of all hostages held by the Palestinian militants. Reports said that the threat of such an offensive has increased tensions between longtime allies America and Israel, its key ally, since the establishment and recognition of the regime. Trust between the bloodthirsty, Israel, which is in favor of war continuation and killing more innocent civilians in Gaza, is said to be breaking down, as the first abstained the Security Council vote in favor of stopping the war that was expected to help hostages released and humanitarian aids flown. The Israeli regime’s Netanyahu is confronting domestic challenges of his own, besides his hard line against the Gaza war. The war in Gaza and the martyring of innocent civilians obviously showed that Muslim countries have kept silent just because of their material interests as well as their fear of the west and other world superpowers. They have never thought about the death of thousands of innocent children, women and elderlies who lost and still losing their lives under the bombardment of the Israeli regime forces in the Gaza Strip. No Islamic country has so far raised its voice for supporting Gaza even the flame war in the residential houses in the Gaza and Rafah conflicted zones shaped dark clouds and darkened the sky of Palestine. The Islamic Emirate wants the war ended permanently in Gaza and the innocent people of Palestine to be helped to have their own independent government and the occupied lands of Gazans to be returned.
