University entrance exam results announced, Herat student tops the test

Deputy Prime Minister sends congratulatory message on the occasion

KABUL: This year’s university entrance exam (locally known as Kankor) results were announced Saturday by the National Examination Authority at a ceremony in Kabul.
In the ceremony, Sulaiman 18, a citizen of the country’s western province of Herat was announced to have won the highest grade, scoring over 355 on the exam, taking first position and admitted to the medical faculty of Herat University.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for Political Affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, has sent a message on the 1401 solar year’s successfully held university entrance exam and congratulated the winners for their success in the process. “Participants of tens of thousands of students including boys and girls in the university entrance exam and their enthusiasm to knowledge, indicates that Afghanistan is going ahead toward a bright future and self-sufficiency,” the message read.
The Deputy Prime Minister, personally congratulated the top winners of the exam, particularly Sulaiman who topped the test.
Sulaiman received a warm welcome at the Sultan Ghiyathuddin Ghori high school in Herat, from his teachers and his classmates. He said that he put in two years of diligent study to accomplish this success.
“My two years of hard work helped me accomplish this success,” Sulaiman the top score winner believes.
“Through learning, I want to make Afghanistan one of the leading countries in the world,” Sulaiman told media.
“He would leave the house at six in the morning to study, and he would return at eight in the evening, and he was also studying at night,” Ghulam Jailani Rayan, Sulaiman’s father told ToloNews.
Mohammad Shabir, a resident of Kabul city, came in second place with 355.328, and Hedayatullah, a Herat resident, came in third place with 354 marks, according to head of the institute.
At the ceremony to announce the results of the exam, Abdul Qader Khamosh, the acting head of the National Examination Authority, said that students who received high grades but were unsuccessful in their selected fields would be introduced to other faculties that had space for them.
According to him, if there are any complaints, they will be registered and addressed duly.
Following are the remaining top scores of the university entrance exam results as ToloNews the private TV channel reported:
Mohammad Zia, a resident of Ghazni province, received 353.93 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
Mohammad Aziz, a resident of Kunduz province, received 353.72 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
Mansour Baik, a resident of Kabul province, received 353,497 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
Sayed Mohsen, a resident of Balkh province, received 352.14 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Balkh Medical University.
Najibullah, a resident of Bamyan province, received 352 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
Mustafa, a resident of Kabul province, received 352 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
Mohammad Abdullah, a resident of Kabul province received 352 and was admitted to the medical faculty of Kabul University of Medical Sciences (Abu Ali Ibn Sina).
The top 10 participants in this year’s university entrance exam do not include any female candidates.
86,000 of a total of 140,000 boys and girls joined this year’s university entrance exam passed in the test.
