Unfair use of internet in Afghanistan

The world witnessed significant changes in the last two decades, including politics, economy, culture, and society. All this happened after the globalization of the Internet and social media and today the world has become a small village that gathers all people together. People from all over the world, interact with each other in all parts of their social life. The Internet has widely helped global businesses and brought indescribable ease for world merchants to introduce their products. The role of the Internet and specifically the role of social media in the field of culture is very colorful. In the shortest time, indigenous subcultures spread and multiplied all over the world, and probably overshadowed, modified, or disappeared other traditions and cultures. In other words, nowadays, more world countries are moving towards the direction of monoculture. In the education sector, classical education is giving way to modern methods using the Internet and after the epidemic of COVID-19, the Internet and virtual space found their place worldwide and in the past few years, most universities and schools held their virtual classes. Not only backward countries that lacked infrastructure in this regard, but most developed or developing countries are also satisfied with the status of remote education and still graduate students in this way. Most universities in the countries of the region such as India and China still use this method and teach overseas students online. As everyone knows, today’s world is the world of communication, the Internet strengthened the communication space more than anything, until two decades ago communication channels were very limited and time-consuming. Now, within seconds, it is possible to connect to the farthest place in the world and get information. In this century, the pulse of most of the activities of human society is in the area of the Internet. Good governance is possible using the internet and internet data. In addition, unfair use of the internet can have devastating consequences in some societies, particularly in countries like Afghanistan. Addiction to social media is one of the other harms for the youths. As a result, it must be said that non-compliance with the culture of using the Internet in some less developed countries such as Afghanistan also brings problems. Therefore, the culture of using the Internet and Internet tools in this country is affected by the lack of awareness and illiteracy of most parts of the society. With the increase of internet services in the past decade in Afghanistan, many people use social networks including Facebook without knowing the culture of using them, because access to these networks is unconditional and free of charge. So, they can open various fake accounts on Facebook, Instagram, X, telegram, etc to abuse, insult and defame certain people, an act which is against human morality and ethics. A wide range of these people intentionally or unintentionally attack and insult the character of individuals and institutions. Anyway, besides using Facebook and other social media, understanding the culture and ethics of using them should not be forgotten.
