UNAMA should release accurate reports on Afghanistan, Mawlavi Haqmal

KABUL: The Director of Bakhtar News Agency and the Acting Deputy Publication Minister of Information and Culture Mawlavi Ziaulhaq Haqmal said that UNAMA is a communication bridge between Afghanistan and the world and should publish its reports transparently and impartially. Mawlavi Haqmal made the remarks in a meeting with Fiona Frazer, the Chief of Human Rights of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, the ministry said in a statement the other day. Fiona Frazer said that they work alongside governments for their last and share each report first with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or other government institutions and then publish reports, the statement said. She added they have so far shared some reports about the conditions of prisons, general amnesty, physical health and other sectors, according to the statement. Praising the ministry’s efforts in supporting the media, she said that in order the people to be aware of the details of their reports, should refer to the UNAMA’s publications. Asking the UNAMA to conduct a complete investigation in publishing its reports, Haqmal said that the organization as a communication bridge between the world and Afghanistan should publish its reports with full transparency and impartiality.
