KABUL: Afghanistan’s Central Bank-Da Afghanistan Bank, said that the United Nations has sent its 20th package of up to $32 million which has arrived in Kabul on Tuesday.
The cash, which is part of humanitarian assistance pledged by the UN, last year, was delivered to Afghanistan International Bank (AIB), according to the statement.
The cash is part of the humanitarian assistance pledged by the UN last year to address the lack of cash that led to a spike in the prices of food items and fuel, the statement added.
This brought the total amount of cash delivered to Afghanistan by the UN to over $640.
The cash has apparently helped the value of Afghanistan’s local currency (Afghani) to remain stable against the USD.
