UK supports lasting peace in Afghanistan, Dickson

KABUL: The United Kingdom Chargé d’Affaires to Afghanistan Robert Chatterton Dickson, in a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, said that his country supported a lasting peace in Afghanistan and ef forts were underway to improve Kabul ties with the world. Addressing the meeting, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir said that Afghanistan and the UK have friendly ties and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) gives huge importance to its ties with the world particularly with London, according to a statement from Arg the other day. “UK should display the real image of Afghanistan to the world and engage with the Islamic Emirate,” the statement quoted Mawlavi Kabir as saying. Dickson also stressed Afghanistan’s relationship with the world needed continued political interaction with the world. “The UK wanted to connect Afghanistan with the world and remove the misunderstanding between the two sides and UK-Afghanistan engagement will be further enhanced in the future and reaching this milestone is important,” the statement quoted Dickson as saying.
