Turkey, Malaysia pledge support to Afghan health sector

KABUL: Director of Afghanistan Food and Drug Administration Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, on the sideline of the conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met with the officials of medicine and medical products of Turkey and Malaysia.
Dr. Omar discussed the quality of medicines and medical products and the strengthening of business in respective sectors with the General Director of Medicines and Medical Products of Turkey, according to a statement.
During a meeting the Turkish side vowed to provide comprehensive assistance to the National Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan in capacity building, laboratories and technical aspects, the statement went on as saying.
Meanwhile, Omar and his accompanying delegation met with the Deputy Director of the Malaysian Drug and Medical Products Administration of that country.
During the meeting, the Malaysian side promised that they will provide technical and necessary assistance to the Food and Drug Administration of Afghanistan.
