Tree plantation & horticulture in the light of science & Quran

Environmental value:
As human beings grow in the lap of nature and are completely dependent on it and need it, nature has also been created to serve humans. Forests and trees are the most important principle of nature and it becomes unbalanced and ugly without them. Therefore, in this section, the environmental values of trees and forests are explained.
1. Air purification and climate control:
The existence of forests and trees in nature and human life brings beauty, happiness, greenery, tranquility, prosperity, purity, and freshness.
The trees’ branches and leaves absorb dust from the air and reduce pollution.
Trees with their transpiration play an important role in reducing the heat of the microclimate and increasing the relative humidity of the air.
The air temperature in the vicinity of the trees is much cooler than in the areas there are no trees, and the more the tree is bigger, the greater this difference can be felt.
Absorption of solar radiation by trees reduces the temperature difference between day and night.
Trees also play a significant role in changing and transformation the weather.
The shade and roots of trees play vital role in the preservation and growth of plants that cannot send their roots deep into the ground to absorb water, or cannot bear direct sunlight, especially in the hot days of the summer season, or cannot resist strong winds and rains. Besides, the tree’s green space with its large leaf area compared to other plant forms can increase humidity, decrease the heat, and soften the air through transpiration as trees, make the airflow, prevent from dry air and improve environmental conditions, reduce air pollution, have a positive impact on the water cycle in the environment, and increase the quality of underground water.
Forests and trees balance to keep the seasonal and daily heat of the earth’s surface balanced as they absorb part of the sun’s thermal energy in the summer and reduce the earth’s heat and prevent it from losing heat in the winter.
Also, the lead in the air coming from industrial companies’ activities and vehicles is one of the most toxic and dangerous substances for humans as it is absorbed through breathing and has adverse effects and consequences on human health. Forests that absorb a large amount of lead suspended in the air have effective role in absorbing lead from polluted air in cities and can protect residential areas.
2. Preservation and increasing water resources:
Planting saplings preserves surface water resources, increases water resource reserves and reduces soil erosion. Trees by absorbing snow water can slow down the movement and flow of water on an impervious surface of the city and delay the passage of water on the surface of the city. Forests and trees by increasing air humidity and absorbing rain, infiltrating water in the soil and playing the role of mother for springs and rivers play an important role in regulating water circulation in nature.
