Tradesfolk with annual turnover of under 2 million Afghani exempt from tax

KABUL: Based on the decree of the Su preme Leader of the Islamic Emirate Shaikh Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, all business owners whose turnover is under two million Afghani per year, have been ex empted from paying tax, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement the other day. Speaking at a ceremony on this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi said that the IEA is committed to creating more and better facilities for the nation and the private sector, according to the statement. “The waiver of taxes for large and small-scale businesses is a unique approach of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, aimed at, enhancing citizen’s welfare, providing increased facilities for the private sector, strengthening ties and collaboration amidst government entities and private sector organizations, and fostering economic growth.,” the statement quoted Hanafi as saying. Also, the Acting Minister of Finance Mawlavi Mohammad Nasir Akhund said that the decree is being implemented to reduce and cancel the taxes from the beginning of the current solar year. Nasir Akhund stated that the implementation of the tax exemption initiative would have positive effects on the general activities of the private sector in the country. Based on the decree, the tradesfolk with a turnover of over 2 million Afghani, will pay 0.3 percent tax. The Kabul Times
