Three historical sites discovered in Kabul

KABUL: Three historical sites have been discovered in Khak-e-Jabar district of Kabul city, the Ministry of Information and Culture said in a statement Monday. “The professional team of the Archeology Department of the ministry has surveyed, discovered and registered 3 new historical sites including Kariz area, Bande-Darankhil and Malang village in Khak-e-Jabar district of the province,” the statement quoted Director of Archeology Department of the ministry Zabihullah Sadat as saying. The historical sites dated back to the Koshanid era from the 1st to the 5th century, the statement said. Since the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate, hundreds of historical monuments, sites and relics have been surveyed and discovered by the professional teams of the Ministry of Information and Culture, as well as smuggling of hundreds of historical relics have been prevented across the country. The ministry is making efforts to survey and discover more historical sites and restore the historical monuments which are on the verge of destruction countrywide. The Kabul Times
