KABUL: Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), has said that eight members of Daesh including foreign nationals have been killed and more others arrested in three separate operations conducted by the Islamic Emirate (IEA) security forces in Kabul and Nimroz provinces.
“Late on Wednesday, three coordinated operations were conducted in Kabul and Nimroz provinces on a key network of Daesh members who had planned and carried out attacks on Kabul Longan Hotel, used by Chinese, airport and Pakistan embassy to Kabul and other key locations. they were also involved in recruiting and transferring of foreign nationals to the country,” Mujahid said.
Mujahid added that eight Daesh members including foreign nationals were killed, seven others arrested, and numerous small arms and equipment, hand grenades, mines and explosives-laden vests seized in the operations carried out in the respective provinces particularly Qalacha and Shuhada -e- Saliheen areas of Kabul and in Zaranj, the provincial capital of Nimroz.
The IEA spokesperson further said that a number of suspicious individuals were also detained for further investigation.
