Thousands of tourists visited Bamyan province in few days, official

KABUL: Nearly 13,000 tourists have visited ancient Bamyan province over the last few days, local officials said the other day.
At least 2,000 private and passenger vehicles have been stopped at the entrance gate of Bamyan province, to receive tickets for visiting one of the country’s national parks in that province, where as many as 13,000 tickets have been sold, said Zabihullah Rabdoost the provincial Agriculture director.
“All tourists have to keep the environment clean and prevent throwing garbage in the areas around the park,” said Rabdoost adding that the beautiful environment of the national park is not polluted and to follow the regulations set by the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock directorate.
Ahmad Jan Popal, a Kandahari tourist who traveled to Bamyan from Kandahar said: “I came to enjoy the Bamyan landscape and have fun along with my friends.”
Bamyan is one of the first historic provinces in the country, where the giant Buddha Statues attract thousands of tourists inside and outside the country.
