Thousands of tons of goods exported, imported through railway in a week

KABUL: A rough amount of 68,908 metric tons of commodities have been transported through the country’s railways in the past one week, the Afghanistan Railway Authorities (ARA) said in a statement Sunday. “Around 50,648 metric tons of exports and imports have been done via Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif railway, 4,329 metric tons of goods have been transported via Aqina railway and the rest has been made via Turghundi and Khaf railways,” the statement said. Tens of thousands of metric tons of merchandise had so far been transported via the country’s railways over the past few months of the current fiscal year. The ARA is making efforts to provide traders with the necessary facilities and resolve the challenges facing them. The Kabul Times
