HERAT: Border police have thwarted the trafficking of 150,000 U.S. dollars, 450,000 Euro and 1.5 million Saudi Riyal in the Islam Qala ground port, the provincial police office said in a statement on Monday. The money was placed in a taxi and smuggled via Islam Qala ground port to the neighboring country of Iran according to the statement. All relevant officials in the country’s customs houses and ports were tasked and strictly monitoring and no one will be allowed to export or import commodities without legal procedures, the statement added.
