Those saying “no” to peace will be suppressed, security officials

As efforts are underway in national and international levels for peace talks with the Taliban group, Afghan defense and security officials by stressing that peace is in top priorities of Afghanistan government say those who are saying “no” to peace will be suppressed by the country’s defense and security forces.
Hamdullah Mohib, Afghanistan National Security Advisor, says good works in particular better management of war is key for the government of Afghanistan.
“Terrorists and other armed opponent groups supported by any sides cannot challenge determination of the people of Afghanistan, but instead it increases morale among the people to defend the country and sovereignty,” NSA Hamdullah Mohib said.
Pointing to introduction of the country’s friend and enemy, Mohib said it was quite clear who was the enemy, adding anyone who wanted to damage the system was considered as the enemy of Afghanistan.
“As we do not differentiate between good and bad insurgents, after this there will be no differentiation between good and bad enemy. We will use all the force to curb those who want war and violence, kill Afghans, create threat to the people and destroy the country because of the interests of others,” Mohib said.
Meanwhile, Lower House of parliament considers the appointment of Amrullah Saleh and Asadullah Khalid as acting ministers for interior and defense as good step, hoping they can bring further reforms in the country’s defense and security organs.
“All the people know that Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) are real defenders of the country; therefore, they should be fully supported, or they cannot stand against the enemies in battlefields,” a lawmaker Hashimi said.
Afghan military experts believe that the country’s defense and security organs have the responsibility to timely supply and equip defense and security forces in remote areas of the country so that can suppress the enemies in battlefields.
“Currently armed Taliban group has deteriorated security situation and attacked security check posts in Farah, Ghazni and Faryab where the people have recently witnessed the worst security situation,” an Afghan military expert Amin Safi said, adding it is now necessary that the country’s defense and security forces should work on a comprehensive plan to control insecurities in the respective provinces.
US-led NATO forces general commander to Afghanistan Scott Miller while praising ANDSF for their work in battlefields but said Afghanistan war has had no winner so far.
His remark came after ministry of defense has reported that armed Taliban group has sustained heavy casualties in recent days as the group’s key commanders and leaders have been targeted by ANDSF in various parts of the country.
Meanwhile, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in his recent remark regarding peace and role of the country’s defense and security forces has said Afghans are facing with destructive and imposed war; therefore, the war needs to be seriously and decisively managed and led.
