Technical delegation leaves for Iran to discuss transit issues, ministry

KABUL: A technical delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) left Saturday for the Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss strengthening and developing of trade and transit cooperation between the two countries the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement. The delegation included representatives from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the Ministries of Transport and Civil Aviation, Foreign Affairs and Finance, the statement said. During the visit, the technical delegation will evaluate the capacities and facilities of Iran’s Chabahar Free Port to increase Afghanistan’s transit and exports, and will also discuss the implementation of the agreements that were made during the visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar with the officials of that country, the statement added.
