STOCKHOLM: Sweden’s government-appointed Yohan Nendisi as the chargé d’affaires and special envoy for Afghanistan, the Swedish Foreign Ministry in a statement said the other day. He will start his new mission in August this year. Currently, Nadisi is serving as the first secretary of Africa Affairs at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the statement. The embassy’s operations have been moved to Stockholm instead of Kabul for now, the statement said. He formerly held the position of ambassador to the EU in Brussels, the embassy in Harare, and Tirana. Among other things, he has served as the Foreign Ministry’s deputy chief of the Communications Unit. Also, the UK government on Friday announced that Robert Chatterton Dickson has been appointed charge d’affaires ad interim of the UK Mission to Afghanistan, currently based in Doha. The Kabul Times
