Acting Foreign Affairs Minister of the Islamic Emirate of
Afghanistan Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi was also present on
the occasion.
Although it has been two years since Afghanistan was freed from the invasion of Western invaders, has now an independent and powerful central system and has made considerable progress in terms of interaction and relations with the world, the world has not taken such a quick step that should have taken in this regard. No country in the world has officially recognized the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan so far. One of the reasons why the world has not entered to positive interaction with the Islamic Emirate is that the United States and its allies want to impose their demands and somehow take revenge for their defeat in Afghanistan. It seems that the policy of exerting pressure by the West has failed and the world has come to the conclusion that it cannot achieve its goals through exerting pressure on countries. In the most recent step, China has appointed its new ambassador to Kabul. The Chinese newly-appointed ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing called on Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund last Wednesday and presented him his credentials in an official ceremony held at Arg. Acting Foreign Affairs Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi was also present on the occasion. Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund welcomed the new Chinese ambassador, thanked the Chinese leadership for appointing Zhao Xing as ambassador, and expressed hope that their introduction would mark the rise of diplomatic relations between the two countries to a higher level and the beginning of a new chapter. After the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, this is the first time a key and powerful country in the region has appointed a great diplomat at the ambassador level for Afghanistan. China is now involved in the local economy and politics and is trying to increase its influence in the region and world. The recent diplomatic step by China is very important for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan as it can play a significant role in providing conditions for official recognition. With this, other countries will be encouraged to go for further relations with the IEA and improve their relations based on their interests. It is time that other countries of the world should not always adjust their foreign policies to what the U.S. wants in the world. From the first day, China was unhappy about U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and the presence of Western troops in the region; however, after the rule of the Islamic Emirate, it has chosen a policy of non-interference in the internal affairs of Afghanistan. It has repeatedly said that it respects all decisions of Afghanistan’s current system and does not want to interfere in the country’s internal affairs. China is also interested in economic partnership with Afghanistan and especially in the field of mining as several agreements have been signed between Chinese companies and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in various fields. The rest of the world particularly the Asian countries should follow China’s recent steps, make their own decisions, make use of the opportunity and accept the considerable progress of the past two years and enter to positive interaction with the Islamic Emirate. The Islamic Emirate has repeatedly and very clearly said that it will take positive steps in the field of relations and interaction with the world within the framework of religious and national interests and will provide all necessary facilities for foreign and domestic investment in the country.
