Sixteen water-supply projects utilized in Khost

KHOST: A total of 16 water-supply projects have been completed and exploited in the country’s southeast province of Khost, a statement from the provincial Directorate of Rehabilitation and Rural Development said Tuesday. The projects, worth up to 47 million Afghani ( some 535,800 US Dollars) had been funded by the UNICEF and technical cooperation of OCHR and implemented and recently got operational in Nader Shah Kot, Ismael Khil Mandozay, and Tanay districts of the province, said the statement. The projects included the extension of water-supply pipes, the digging of nine deep water wells and the installation of 350 solar boards, retaining walls and construction of 12 concrete reservoirs, said the statement quoting Enayaturrahman Jalali, head of the Directorate of Rehabilitation and Rural Development More than 19,400 people have benefited from the potable water and hundreds of locals have been provided with employment, as the projects completed duly, according to the statement.
