TIRINKOT: The Acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani during his visit to the country’s southern province of Uruzgan, has met with a number of local government officials and tribal elders, the ministry said in a statement the other day. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Haqqani said that the IEA’s Mujahidenn have not struggled and sacrificed for power and position in the past 20 years; but they had given sacrifices for the reestablishment of the Islamic system and implementation of the sharia law in the country, according to the statement. “We took pride in our struggle against the enemy, but after the victory, it is now necessary to turn to humility instead of pride and not use inappropriate words against those who did not fight in support of the Islamic Emirate in the past twenty years, the statement quoted Haqqani as saying. Also, he added that the secret of the Jihad and freedom of the country from 20 years of the USled foreign forces occupation was the result of the patience, efforts and sacrifices of the Afghan Mujahid nation; therefore, serving the people was one of the main responsibility of the Islamic Emirate, the statement added. The minister according to the statement, went on as saying that he is visiting Uruzgan province to see the people closely and appreciate their sacrifices and listen to their problems. Referring to the implementation of development projects in the province, Haqqani promised that more attention will be paid in the implementation of public welfare projects in Uruzgan, saying construction works of the Agha Jan dam will be launched in the near future and the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway will also be constructed. The minister also pledged more attention to health, education and establishing new education and health centers will be built.
