“Serious attention should be paid to health of Afghan miserable women”, President Ghani

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in opening ceremony of national health assistance program for Afghan miserable women held at Chahar Chinar palace and attended also by First Lady said Afghan women were the back bone of families and the country; therefore, addressing the issue of women’s health was one of key issues to which the government had paid serious attention.
Considering opening the national program as worthy step towards providing access to miserable women to health services across the country, President Ghani said the government was committed to allocating particular amount from the government’s incomes to women healthcare.
The country’s President instructed ministries of finance and public health to seriously monitor the implementation process of the respective national program, asking doctors for cooperation in implementation of the program.
Meanwhile, acting minister of finance Dr. Mohammad Hamayoun Qayoumi said that based on instruction of the country’s President in connection with maintaining rights of the citizens, national health assistance program for miserable women has been prepared, adding that 2 billion afghani has been allocated for the program and to cover 1200 health centers across the country where 2 million women will benefit the program.
At the end of program, health services tariffs were distributed by the country’s President to a number of miserable women.
