President Ghani chairing security meeting at the Presidential Palace

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has said there will be accountability in all spheres of the security and defense sector, insisting Monday’s rocket and mortar attack on Kabul would not be treated indifferently.
Presiding over a security meeting about Kabul at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday evening, the president directed all security and defense forces to boost security measures in Kabul and provinces to prevent such an attack in future.
The president was speaking hours after Daesh militants fired several rockets and mortars at various parts of Kabul city including the Presidential Palace.
Security officials said the attack came to an end after two assailants were killed and six civilian and security officials injured.
At the meeting, the president was briefed about the attack and the response of security forces. After hearing the report, President Ghani thanked the special ground and air forces for their swift response to the attack. The president insisted all security organs should be accountable.  He said the people of Afghanistan wanted an accountable government.
