Road crush leaves 8 dead, 30 wonded in Ghazni

GHAZNI: At least 8 people have been martyred and 30 others injured as a result of a traffic accident on the Kabul-Kandahar highway in the country’s central Ghazni province, the provincial police office said in a statement the other day. The provincial police spokesman Abu Khalid Sarhadi said the accident took place in Nanee market of Ghazni city after a 404- model passenger bus collided with Mazda type vehicle and resulted in the martyring of 8 people and injuring of 30 others, according to the statement. He added that the injured have been evacuated to the provincial hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, most passengers traveling from Kabul to their home provinces say traffic accidents usually occur due to the recklessness of the drivers on the country’s main roads. According to passengers, most of the drivers do not have driving licenses and most others are using various drugs while driving, which most cause traffic incidents. The Kabul Times
