Returnees’ problems to be addressed, Mawlavi Kabir

KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, during his trip to the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar, visited the Omari camp established in Torkham for returning Afghan refugees, and assured local officials of complete support in addressing returnees’ challenges, his office said in a statement Tuesday. Pledging the provision of health and other facilities for returnees, Mawlavi Kabir said that the deportation of Afghan refugees was against all international laws and principles, according to the statement. “We are happy upon the return of Afghan migrants, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strived to facilitate the honorable and dignified return of all Afghans back to their country,” the statement quoted Mawlavi Kabir as saying. The deputy PM assured that the problems in Torkham would be strictly followed up and efforts would be made to provide facilities to patients and passengers. The relevant officials of the camp said that with the expulsion of Afghan immigrants from Pakistan, the pressure on this camp was very high, but with the help of local people, compatriots living abroad, businessmen and international institutions, Afghan immigrants were well hosted and provided with all necessary facilities. They added the return of Afghan refugees is still continuing, they are stabilized, biometric and registered in the camp, The Kabul Times
