Restoration work of Shahr-e-Naw Park begins

KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, in an official ceremony has inaugurated the restoration work of the Shar-e-Now Park, his office said in a statement Monday. “The park has 9.9 acres of squares area and will be basically renovated by the private sector within three years,” the statement said, costing 1.2 billion Afghani. According to the park’s renovation plan an underground shopping center, a commercial complex on the edge of the park, a special shopping center for women, a futsal stadium, recreational facilities, restaurant, mosque, swimming pool and car parking will be built within three years, the statement quoted. Also, hundreds of people will directly or indirectly be provided with job opportunities in the renovation project, the statement added. The Kabul Times
