KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has rejected report by Human Rights Watch (HRW) on the killing of innocent people and human rights abuse in Afghanistan as baseless.
A statement, the IEA spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted late on Friday, said that Afghans have now been provided with better human rights than any other period in Afghanistan.
He asked the UN and human rights advocate agencies not to listen to the propaganda against the Islamic Emirate. “They must consider and accept the truth in the country. Human rights are respected in comparison to the past 20 years in Afghanistan,” said the Islamic Emirate spokesman.
He said the Ministry of Order to Virtue and Prohibition from Vice and other related organs including the country’s intelligence forces are behaving with the entire criminals based on the Islamic values.
He said no journalist has been detained, tortured or his/her rights violated but only based on journalism norms.
“We have never report about civilian casualties in the country. Theft, looting and other criminal activities are prevented in the country,” said Mujahid adding there are many murders, ‘Kharijites’ and kidnappers in the Islamic Emirate captivity and they are treated based on the Islamic teachings and human rights principles. “However, the public minds demand their serious punishment, but they are ignored and courts decision are suspended. No one would be punished unless the court decides.”
The statement released by Mujahid went on as saying that if the UN wants peace and security fully strengthen and the people life improve in the country, it should cooperate with the Islamic Emirate for ensuring better life for the people in Afghanistan.
These comments come as HRW on Thursday expressed concerns over the violations of human rights, especially those of women and girls, and called for an end to an exemption on travel bans of the Islamic Emirate.
