Removal of barriers from Airport Square to Custom Avenue underway

KABUL: The clearing and removal of obstacles (properties under acquisition), the new connecting road from the intersection of Kabul Airport to the customs road in the 9th district has been started, the Kabul Municipality said in a statement the other day. The head of the Acquisition Department of Kabul Municipality Engineer Omidur Rahman Rahmani said there are 501 properties under acquisition alongside the road, and after the acquisition, paying their costs to their owners also has started, according to the statement. Rahmani added that the connecting road will be constructed in accordance with the master plan to provide the ground for the economic growth of Kabul city. After completion of clearing and removal of obstacles, con struction work on the road will be started in the near future. The road with a length of 2.8 kilometers and a width of 60 meters, including the construction of drainages and other details of a standard road will be built within 20 months. The Kabul Times
