Religious scholars, elders from north call on Deputy PM

KABUL: The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir met with a number of religious scholars, tribal elders and influential figures from some of the country’s northern provinces, a statement from his office said Wednesday.
In the meeting which was held at Spidar Palace, representing others, Eng. Mahmoud Baghlani, Mawlavi Shamsurrahman and Mawlavi Faizi Badakhshi convoyed the suggestions and problems of the people in their provinces with the deputy Prime Minister, the statement said.
“We have full security in our provinces, after the takeover of the country by the Islamic Emirate and the elimination of power mafia,” said Eng. Mahmoud Baghlani.
They reassured of their firm cooperation and support to the Islamic system, the statement quoted.
The Deputy Prime Minister, then, expressed his gratitude for the cooperation and support of the people of the country’s northern zone, saying that the Islamic Emirate was “against discrimination and prejudice and sees all Afghans with one eye.”
“Afghanistan is a common home for all Afghans and a secure environment is now restored,” he went on as saying adding everyone had the right to live and work peacefully.
Mawlavi Abdul Kabir said that the Islamic Emirate was not against the rights of women but is committed to ensuring all their rights within the Islamic teachings.
“The Islamic system belongs to all Afghans and everyone tries to see themselves in it in accordance to their qualification,” the statement quoted him as saying.
The deputy prime minister assured the religious scholars, tribal elders and influential figures of the country’s northern provinces that the organs concerned would take in mind the problems and suggestions of the people to be tackled duly.
