Rebels’ leader Mawlavi Mahdi killed in Herat

KABUL: A rebels’ leader Mawlavi Mahdi who opposed the Islamic Emirate was killed in the country’s western Herat province, on Wednesday, the ministry of defense said on its official twitter.
The elusive Mawlavi Mahdi was planned to leave for Iran, after he failed to resist against the Islamic Emirate security forces, said the ministry.
Mawlavi Mahdi was the district chief of Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul province.
