KABUL: The recent explosion that killed or wounded a number of civilians in the capital Kabul, received harsh reactions at the national and international levels. Deputy Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir strongly denounced the attack and said: “Such attacks reveal the real faces of the enemies of Islam and the Afghans.” Condemning the recent bloody incident, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate Bilal Karimi said that the Daesh phenomenon has almost been suppressed and eliminated by 90 percent. “The Islamic Emirate is making efforts to uproot them (Daesh militants) all over the country. Happening of similar small incidents are common in all world countries,” said Karimi. Former President Hamid Karzai also, condemned the attack and called it against human and Islamic values. Former chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, Abdullah Abdullah, also condemned the attack and called it a plan, an organized act by the enemies of the Afghan people and clearly contradicts all human and Islamic values. The UN mission in Afghanistan, UNAMA, in a statement condemned the bloody incident and said it was unacceptable that ordinary Afghans continue to be targeted as they go about their daily lives. A former Afghan diplomat, Asadullah Rahmani, who served as a diplomat in some countries, such as Iran, Pakistan, Turkmenistan and Japan was among the six people killed in the blast. The U.S. special envoy for Afghanistan, Thomas West said on Twitter that “Afghans have suffered enough and terrorism for any reason at any place is indefensible. “Sincerest condolences to the families of the victims and to those injured,” he twitted. At least six people were killed and many others, including three Islamic Emirate forces, were wounded in the attack near a checkpoint close to the Foreign Ministry affairs. The Interior Ministry’s spokesman Abdul Nafay Takor said the attacker was gunned down before reaching his target but the explosives, he attached to his body went off resulting in the death of a number of civilians and injuries of many others.
