President meets Marshal Abdul Rshid Dostum

KABUL: President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with former vice president Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum yesterday at Presidential Palace.
In the meeting, overall security situation particularly security situation of the country’s northern provinces were discussed.
In the meeting, Marshal Dustom said that they were standing beside the country’s defense and security forces and defending precisely the country and its people, adding that it is time to make serious effort towards improvement of the country’s security and defending the values along with Afghan National Defense and Security Forces.
This comes as heavy fighting continued in the city of Sheberghan, the capital of northern Jawzjan province.
The security forces are supported by public forces loyal to Junbish-e-Milli or the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan led by former vice president Abdul Rashid Dostum.
Meanwhile UNAMA in a special UNSC meeting regarding Afghanistan on Friday asked the Taliban to stop attacking Afghanistan’s provincial capitals.
