Poppy on 912 acres of land destroyed in 5 provinces, ministry

KABUL: Poppy on 912 acres of land have been destroyed in five provinces of the country in the past day, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement Monday. During a series of counter-narcotics operations by the anti-drugs police personnel of the ministry, poppy on 912 acres of land have been destroyed in Badakhshan, Faryab, Samangan, Parwan and Balkh provinces of the country in the past day, the statement said. The destroyed poppy land was 450 acres of land in Argo, Jurm and Teshkan districts of Badakhshan province, 432 acres of land in Faryab, 30 acres of land in Samangan and some acres of poppy land in Parwan and Balkh provinces of the country, the statement added. A few days ago, poppy on hundreds of acres of land were destroyed in several provinces of the country and the poppy destruction and elimination process is seriously underway across the country.
