Poppy on 1,670 acres of lands destroyed in 6 provinces

KABUL: Poppy on 1,670 acres of lands have been destroyed in six provinces of the country, the Counter-Narcotic Department of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate said in a statement Saturday. “300 acres of poppy farmlands in the Spinghar and Nazyan districts of Nangarhar, 296 acres of poppy farmlands in the Kishim district of Badakhshan, 255 acres of poppy farmlands in Uruzgan, 73 acres of poppy farmlands in Nuristan, 184 acres of poppy farmlands in Laghman, 39 acres of poppy farmlands in Baghlan and 40 acres of poppy farmlands in other provinces of the country have been eradicated by the counter-narcotics personal,” the statement said. The counter-narcotics personnel of the Islamic Emirate have destroyed thousands of acres of poppy farmlands and hundreds of drug processing labs countrywide so far. The Kabul Times
