Poppy on 150 acres of land destroyed in provinces, ministry

KABUL: Poppy on 150 acres of land has been destroyed in some provinces of the country, the Ministry of Interior Affairs said in a statement on Monday. During several anti-narcotics operations by counter-police personnel of the ministry, poppy on 150 acres of land has been de stroyed in Nangarhar, Laghman, Uruzgan, and Balkh provinces, the statement said. After the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, poppy cultivation has significantly decreased and tens of thousands of drug addicts have been rounded up and treated across the country. The relevant organs of the Islamic Emirate are making efforts to prevent poppy cultivation and trafficking of narcotics in the country, the move which has been appreciated by the world countries.
