Poppy farms destroyed in Sar-e-Pul

SAR-E-PUL: Poppy on 55 acres lands has been destroyed in the country’s northern Sar-e- Pul province, an official said Saturday. “In order to implement the decree of Amir al Mumineen, we destroyed poppy farms on 55 acres of lands in Oaq Berrideh, Khaja Beldar, Sarkande, Alto and Maimana Qeshlaq villages of the province,” Shir Mohammad Ghazanfar, district’s administrative chief told media. According to him, the Islamic Emirate has banned the cultivation and smuggling of any kind of drugs in the country and warned that the violators would be legally pursued. After the resumption of power by the Islamic Emirate in August 2021, the cultivation and dealing of drugs of any kind have been announced to be prevented. The Kabul Times
