Poets, writers should write poems conveying past heroes to future generations, Khairkhwa

KABUL: The Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, during the celebration of the “Nargis Flower Festival” in the country’s eastern province of Nangarhar said that poets and writers should write such poems to convey the past heroes of the country to the future generations. The festival which was organized by the Information and Culture Department of Nangarhar, was attended by a number of high-ranking government officials, tribal elders, writers, poets, scholars, university professors and youths, the ministry said in a statement on Saturday. Youth Affairs Director of the provincial information and culture department Qari Mohammad Asif Zaheer said that the “Nargis Flower Festival” was held for the first time in 1393, which is now held every year in the same season by the Department of Information and Culture. Addressing the festival, Mullah Khairkhwa said I am grateful to the knowledge-loving people of Nangarhar, who have always organized literary programs and performances for the lovers of science and literature. Also, Youth Affairs Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Qari Rashid said that this is a very happy place, that today in a safe environment, we participate in such a festival. “The construction of a country requires four important basic components, independence, security, justice and economic strength, which fortunately, all these components are available in the current system,” the statement quoted Qari Rashid as saying.
