PIMS to recruit Afghan doctors for expertise

KABUL: The country’s Ministry of Public Health has said that the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) would recruit a number of Afghan doctors for their expertise.
During his visit to Pakistan, the country’s Minister of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Ebad met with the deputy chief of the institute, Professor Dr. Rizvan Taj and his accompanying team.
Both sides talked about the related issues and said that after this, Afghan doctors should have 5 percent participation for their specialization in the institute every year and they should be recruited as soon as possible, according to the statement.
According to another report, the country’s Minister of Public Health, Dr. Qalandar Ebad and the Director of the National Emergency Polio Eradication Center, Dr. Nik Wali Shah Momin met with the World Health Organization, Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office, and Head of the Polio Eradication Center, Hamid Al-Jaafari and Bill Gates Michael Galloway in Islamabad.
They discussed comprehensively the eradication of polio in Afghanistan and Pakistan and emphasized the efforts to eradicate polio.
The delegation of the Ministry of Public Health also visited Shifa International Hospital and the Afghan doctors and talked about the construction of a Mini-Shifa hospital in Kabul.
